Summer Gardening
Did I mention that summer is my favorite season? All the work put into planting seeds, preparing flower beds, planting flower pots is so rewarding. I love sitting on my patio or under my pergola surrounded by flowers and plants on a warm, sunny day.

Perennials
Over the years, I've experimented with various perennials to determine where they need to go. Some prefer shade, some are sun lovers. They flower at different times and grow to different heights. I like to have the same perennial in various gardens so that there is always color around my yard.

Annuals
Annuals need warmer temperatures, so I don't plant them outside until after the last frost. They flower longer than perennials, so it's nice to combine them with perennials in flower beds. They look great in all sorts of containers and hanging baskets, mixed with tropicals.

Bulbs
Summer bulbs are stunning! Lilies, dahlias and gladiolas make excellent flower arrangements. They tend to be tall and may need to be supported because of their size. The look great at the back of a flower bed with smaller plants in front, or on their own.
